Women play a significant role in agriculture and in Farm Bureau. In Nevada Farm Bureau, women play an active role in agricultural promotion and education. Events such as Our Food Link, county fairs and the yearly photo contest provide great opportunities to educate the public about Farm Bureau and Nevada agriculture.
Women’s Communications Boot Camp is an intensive training opportunity for any female Farm Bureau member interested in building skills needed to communicate about agriculture and for Farm Bureau. To date, 210 women have graduated from the program. These skilled alumni provide Farm Bureau with a passionate and persuasive group of advocates who connect with influencers on the local, state and national levels.
Two sessions of Communications Boot Camp will be held in Washington, D.C. in 2020. Participants will receive training on advocacy, public speaking, communicating with elected officials, social media strategy, targeted messaging and working with the media.
Summer Session: June 9-12, 2020
Fall Session: October 13-16, 2020

Women’s Leadership Committee plays a vital role in educating students and the general public through Ag Days, classroom outreach, and county fairs.
Fairs create a great opportunity for volunteers to interact with the public and answer questions about agriculture. Nevada no longer has a State Fair, so it is important that our volunteers including Farm Bureau Women are involved. In Nevada we have seen increased volunteer assistance at the county level during fair season!

The connection between Farm Bureau and Ronald McDonald House Charities was forged in the mid-1990s. The American Farm Bureau Women’s Leadership Committee announced at the 100th American Farm Bureau Annual meeting the goal to raise $100,000 in celebration of Farm Bureau reaching the centennial mark.
This year Nevada Women’s Leadership Committee donated $500 to both the Ronald McDonald House Charities Northern Nevada and the Ronald McDonald House Charities Greater Las Vegas.
