The Nevada Cattlemen’s Association is eager to announce this year’s convention. The 82nd Annual Nevada Cattlemen’s Association Convention and Trade Show will be held December 4-6, 2017 at the Elko Convention Center in Elko, NV.
At convention members of the Nevada Cattlemen’s Association, vendors that provide services to the beef cattle industry and guest speakers will join together to celebrate the Nevada Livestock Industry. NCA staff and officers are working hard to provide a memorable and educational experience. This year’s theme is “Cattlemen and Politics for the Future”. Come to convention and learn more about how NCA is working to increase public awareness of the Nevada livestock industry.
Registration for convention is on our website and has been sent out by mail and email. If you are interested in attending and would like more information please call the office at 1-775-738-9214 or email nca@nevadabeef.org. The forms for sponsorship and exhibit booths have also been sent out. The exhibit spaces are close to full for this year’s trade show but there are still plenty of opportunities to sponsor different events. The NCA would like to thank the sponsors and exhibitors, as they help make our event a success.
Since the convention will attract many participants to the Elko area, any business that markets products for or provides services to the members of the beef cattle industry is eligible to advertise in the Sage Signals newsletter. The first night of convention will be “Night on the Town” there will be opportunities to reach out to the participants to promote your business. Please contact Sharon at the Cattlemen’s office or by email at smcknight@nevadabeef.org for more information.
During convention committee meetings take place to set policies. This is a chance for you to provide input to a committee chairman on any changes to a policy or a new policy that affects our industry and way of life. By participating, it is a great way to get involved and have your voice be heard in the policy-making process.
On December 5, the second day of convention, those not wishing to participate in committee meetings have the opportunity to sharpen their book keeping skills with QuickBooks. Cassi Johnson with Pacific Intermountain Mortgage will offer a free class from 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. Attendees are recommended to bring their own laptops.
To encourage attendance of Young Cattlemen between the ages of 18 and 35 the NCA is offering a full convention package at a discounted rate for $155. The package includes a Full Registration, NV Beef Council’s Beef Promotional Lunch, Inspirational Breakfast, CattleFax Lunch and NCA’s Annual Awards Banquet (valued at $265). Also during the 2017 NCA Convention you will have the opportunity to become BQA certified on December 5, 2017 at 11:00 a.m.  Zoetis Animal Health will be conducting a one hour BQA training at which time you will have the opportunity to take the open book NCA BQA test and become certified.
